A gym membership card system that runs from the phone.

Your members already carry a phone. This is the system that issues their membership to it, scans them in at the door, moves them between tiers, and shows you who stopped coming before the direct debit does.

Start a 14-day trialNo card, no hardware, no contract.

What it replaces

A spreadsheet of members and renewal dates
A member list that updates itself when someone joins, upgrades or lapses
Plastic cards and fobs you reorder and reissue
A wallet pass issued in seconds, and reissued for nothing when a phone is replaced
A paper sign-in sheet on the desk
A scan at the door, timestamped, against the right member
Tier tracked in your head, or in a second system
The tier printed on the card, changed from the dashboard, live on the phone

What happens at the door

  1. 01

    Issue

A new member scans a QR code at signup, or gets a link by email. The pass lands in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet carrying their name, their tier and their start date. Nothing to download, nothing to print, nothing to post.

  2. 02

    Check in

Staff open the scanner on the phone already in their pocket and scan the pass. The visit is recorded against that member, so attendance becomes a number you have rather than a feeling you have.

  3. 03

    Change and expire

Move someone from Standard to Premium and the card rewrites itself on their lock screen. Let a membership lapse and the card says so, which is a much quieter conversation than a declined payment at the desk.

It sits beside your booking software. It does not replace it.

Class booking, payments and door hardware are separate problems, and you have probably solved them already. This handles the membership credential and the attendance record: the thing your members carry, and the thing you look at when you want to know who is drifting. Keep the booking tool. Members book there and check in here.

The honest objections

We already have fobs on the door.

Then leave the door alone. What a fob cannot do is show a member their tier and their renewal date, update itself when you change something, or come back on its own when they lose it. Running both is normal: the fob opens the turnstile, the pass carries the relationship.

Our members are not the app type.

Nobody is. That is the whole reason this is a wallet pass and not an app: it goes into the wallet already on the phone, beside the boarding passes and the bank cards, with nothing to install or sign into. If someone genuinely will not use a phone, keep giving them a plastic card. The system does not mind.

Questions

How does a member get their card back after changing phone?

They open the same link or scan the same QR code again and the pass returns, tier and history intact. Nothing to reissue, nothing to pay.

Can I see who has stopped coming?

Yes. Check-ins are recorded per member, so you can list the members whose last visit is older than whatever gap matters in your gym. That is the earliest useful warning that a membership is about to lapse.

Do I need hardware?

No. Staff scan with the phone they already carry. If you have turnstiles or a fob reader, they keep working exactly as they do now.

How many tiers can I run?

As many as you actually sell. The tier is a field on the card, so adding one is a dashboard change and every card already issued picks it up.

Looking for a loyalty card instead?

If what you want is rewards for turning up rather than the membership credential itself, the gyms and studios page covers that.
